What was once the Ann Arbor News building is now home to the U of M Credit Union’s newest location. A.R. Brouwer Company started work on this extensive, three phase project in January 2011.
Phase I consisted of light demo and significant remodeling of the third floor. A tenant required an IT room, multiple offices, conference rooms and a break room. The remodel created a flowing office space for 115 people.
Phase II is specific to the Credit Union, and encompasses work on the building’s basement, as well as its first and second floors. The substantial first floor renovation has become the Corporate Headquarters for the U of M Credit Union. It includes additional partitions, windows, radiant heating, lighting and heating solutions, a covered porch, ATM machine, and ceramic tile on floors and select walls. The second floor has two new offices and a revised HVAC system.
Phase III included constructing an addition onto the third floor, and preparing a portion of the building for future use.
