Believe it or not, the process remains pretty much the same regardless of the location or size of your project, and regardless of the project team you assemble. ie – builder, architect
If you just aren’t sure how to get your project started, check out the activities listed in each phase. These are your To Do* items as a project owner. These activities are required for virtually all commercial projects, and are important for owners to be aware of.
What comes as a surprise to many is not just the sheer number of ‘To Do’ items, especially in the early phases of a project, but the amount of time it can take to complete them.
In fact, the Pre-Construction phase often takes longer to complete than the time spent actively working at a job site. Keep this in mind as you consider your project schedule and timeline.
