New residential communities abound in Howell, Michigan. Expanding right along with that growth surge is the residential building supplies business of Livingston Building Materials. They supply drywall material and accessories for many of the largest residential builders in Southeastern Michigan. Their new headquarters, a Butler pre-engineered metal building on Burkhart Road, houses a 25,000 square foot warehouse area, 2,300 square feet of office area and a 3,400 square foot mezzanine.
Livingston Building Material's two main concerns were cost and schedule. As the construction manager on the project, A.R. Brouwer Co. monitored both very closely, especially when the completion date was threatened. For a five month period it rained...heavily. A record 30-inch fall in the middle of construction kept the completion date tenuous at best. However, A.R. Brouwer Co. finished within the allotted time in spite of Mother Nature.
