Community Involvement

Steve Brouwer founded A.R. Brouwer Company in Dexter in 1998. Giving back to the Dexter community and the surrounding areas of Chelsea, Saline and Ann Arbor, has been a priority of the company since day one. Support for local businesses and organizations has been shown in various ways, ranging from monetary contributions to the donation of time and resources.

A highly visible contribution to the community is the gazebo in Dexter Community Park. A.R. Brouwer Company partnered with local subcontractors to donate time and materials for the gazebo project, making it a real hometown collaboration.

In the heart of downtown Dexter is the Monument Park Building, also constructed by A.R. Brouwer. Steve Brouwer was awarded the Dexter Chamber’s ‘Spark Plug’ award in 2006 for the positive impact on the community as a result of the landmark project.

In addition, Steve Brouwer currently serves as Chairman for Dexter’s Downtown Development Authority. See more of our professional associations here.
